Announcement of Dante Lives On Newsletter
The Board is pleased to announce that DLO will begin publication and regular distribution of a Dante Lives On Newsletter. The purpose of the newsletter is to advise all interested parties of the activities of the DLO Board and organization.

Jack Wallace, a lifelong resident of Dante and supporter fo the organization, has graciously agreed to distribute the publication via email to all persons on “Dante Friends,” the mailing list he maintains to distribute items of interest to current and former residents of Dante. The Board will be working with local newspapers to make sure that news from Dante and DLO reach other area residents with an interest.

Board of Directors Election
An election for vacancies on the DLO Board was held on November 3, 2007, in accordance with the current bylaws of the organization.  Newly elected board members Charlene Ball, Lara McCammon, D. Eugene Stone and Tony Taylor, all current or former residents of Dante, joined current board members Larry (Tub) Morefield, Teresa McKinney, Lois Jenkins, W. C. Phillips, and Ronnie Hall on January 1, 2008 as the governing board.

In a subsequent organizational meeting the Board unanimously elected Teresa McKinney, Chairperson; D. Eugene Stone, Vice Chair; Lara McCammon, Secretary; and Lois Jenkins, Treasurer.  The new Board invites all DLO members and current or former residents of Dante to attend their meetings and provide input and suggestions on activities you believe the Board should take in support of the organization’s goals.  Written comments from members not in the local area or former residents of Dante are also welcome.

The Board is pleased to now be served by non-voting Ex Officio Directors Frank Kilgore and Patsy Phillips.  Kathy Smith, Accountant, has recently begun to serve the Board regarding financial matters.
